I'm owner of a Triumph Dolomite 1850 HL (1978) and a Triumph 2.5 PI MK II (1970). I am currently driving the Dolomite and restoring the PI. I am planning to buy a 2000 MK I in England and use that car as a daily car. When I've bought the MK 1 I will sell the Dolomite. So you see, this page is made just for me (and for my brother (he drives a 1973 2000 MK 2) though he doesn't have Internet).

Cars owned: about ten saloons and estates, including:
1977 2500S, chassis no MP10228DLOP - the last saloon off the production line
1974 2500PI Estate, c/no MN387SCO - one of the rarest estates - even less of the facelift PIs were built than MkIs. The Body number is the 4th in this series - probably the oldest surviving facelift PI estate!

I have a 1971 2000 Mk 2 Auto, I bought it for $475 (Aust.) a couple of years ago before I got my drivers licence. It still had the original owners manual. I've just had the alternator replaced and spent a looong time trying to tune the twin strombergs. It's now running again after a couple of weeks off the road. Sadly I may have to part with it soon because it's developed a pretty serious oil leaks and my dad isn't happy about the mess in the driveway.

P.S. Forgot to mention that together with my wife we have a Triumph 2000 MkI 1967, KTT 215 E. The colour is Damask Red, and if your ever around the A1M corridor between North London and Cambridge, you may see it. It has had recent surgery by Moordale Motors in Potters Bar, who have rescued the carbs, installed the oil cooling system of Chris Witor, and done other maintenance work. From this you may correctly deduce that I am not an engineer or mechanic. However, we nevertheless like the design of the car very much, and appreciate driving the vehicle on a regular basis. We recently got married in Cambridge at St John's College Chapel, and my wife arrived at the ceremony in the Triumph. I will digitize the arrival photograph and transmit it all.

I grew up in a Triumph 1300 and later in a Rover 3500, now I have a 1955 Morris Oxford Saloon (which is featured on my net pages). No 2000/2500 Triumph I am afraid, but that doesn't mean I cannot appreciate your fine pages.
Risking to get myself enemies I must say, though, that I believe the 1300 to have better proportions than its big brother. But that is a matter of taste I believe, and of what you are used to. Your definition of a car worth owning is the best I have ever heared, and I will certainly adopt it! A great truth really!

A wonderful collection of pages, with lots of good information. My wife (Kay) and I own a 2500S manual overdrive assembled in NZ in 1979. This is our third Triumph, the first beinga '74 2500TC, and the second was a 2500S. The previous 2500S was the victim of an errant Mitsibushi and just one look at the two cars convinced us which was the better of the two in an accident situation..., hence the purchase of the car we currently own. Keep up the good work!

Hi, I have a 1974 2500TC Auto. It's White with Black Trim. It was assembled in Nelson, New Zealand and comes with power steering and tinted glass. It has done 275000km on it's original engine. I used to have a 1966 2000TC which had done 250000+ MILES on one engine! Can you tell me if the Triumph Stag ever came with a 2500PI motor or was it only available as a 3.0L V8? New Zealand has many Stags with strange motors e.g. V8 Chev 350cu.in, Rover 3500V8, Triumph2500/6, Ford's 5.0L V8 etc. My Triumph is a family car (called Trumpy!) and is used every day. I drive a Mitsubishi V3000 Wagon for my work and it is boring and sterile. The Trumpy has a personality of it's own. I have oversize carbs and a mild gas-flow on the head and a stainless steel exhaust system. The highest speed (trapped by radar) is 106mph but acceleration is not that good. At that speed fuel economy is 21mpg! On average it is 27mpg. One thing I look after is the suspension and drive shafts. If you have bad suspension the Triumph is a very bad handling car. I also run low-profile Firestone Cavalino Sport tyres which helps with handling.
I must go now but may I congratulate you on such a fine Home Page !

As a Kiwi based in Los Angeles for a while, great to find the 2000/2500 page. Am new to AOL, so really stumbled apon you. Come from a large family very keen on Triumphs. My first at the tender age of 15 was a 64 1600cc Vitesse, then a 67 2000 (which my Dad still owns), 73 2500TC with o/drive and currently have kept our 76 2500TC at home in Auckland. Until recently the "Brady Bunch" (we've got 9 though) had 2 2500TC's, a 2.5 PI, the 2000 MK1 and the sister's boy friend had a 2500TC. Keep up the great work for us Trumphie fans.

I own a 1977 Triumph 2500S estate, recently fully restored. It was built on 17 May 1977 and must therefore have been one of the last to be produced, having chassis number MP/10235-SCAP. It has done less than 90 000 miles from new and, since its conversion to manual/overdrive is a delight to drive. A confession: I also own a Rover 2000SC (1971), a MGBGT (1975) and two Wolseley 1500s. I have been a regular T2000/2.5 user for over 20 years and still use them in preference to any other vehicle. Annual mileage varies from 25-50000 depending on where I'm working. This entails a commitment to continuous rebuilds and restorations, but the whole operation is amazingly time and cost effective. I'm into performance mods and tuning, and have a substantial amount of information. Recently I acted as Editor for the Triumph 2000/2500/2.5 Service Notes, a distillation of all the technical information published since its inception in 1981 in the Triumph 2000/2500/2.5 Register's excellent magazine Six Appeal (available online via the T2000 homepage). The book is invaluable to anyone interested in using, servicing and modifying these cars and is available from Alan Crussel, the Register Chairman (see his entry in this Visitor's Book).

Hello one and all!!
No I have not gone flash and bought a P.C, just using Dave Marshall's address as he gets one free at Warwick University. To anyone out there who does'nt know me, why not!! I'm basically a lunatic with a metallic electric blue modified PI with the very loud twin exhaust system. Write to me at the above e-mail address and it will get passed on by my faithful friend, failing that use the old fashioned british postal system;
"Copper Beeches" Court Drive,
Shenstone,
Lichfield Staffordshire WS14 OJG

Re-doing breakdown list for club, contact at above e-mail or home address for details.

I own a 71 Bond Equipe (Triumph GT6 based) and a 80 tr7 conv. I am feeling a bit isolated and unwanted owning both of these. It is nice to see such an active group like yours. Best of luck !

Great to see all the support for the 2000's on the net. I have a '67 Mk I in need of a lot of work, but I'm working on it. Also have a '64 TR4 which is my current daily driver. The 2000 will take on that role when it is ready.

On behalf of myself, and the committee of the Triumph 2000 Register, I would like to thank Egil for all the great effort he has put into starting and maintaining this excellent site during 1995. Thanks also to the editor of our magazine "Six Appeal", Mark Blewitt, who has given us another 6 enjoyable and informative issues this year. I have been amazed at the amount of interest there is around the world in our beloved Triumphs, and it great to know that there are so many knowledgeable enthusiasts reading and contributing to these pages.
With best wishes to everyone for a peaceful and prosperous 1996.
